At this year’s WWDC10 as an artistic side note to the launch of the iPhone 4 (See HERE for more on Keynote 2010),  it was raining Apps at the App store–literally.  Apple unveiled a mosaic Hyperwall made of apps drizzling down as they are downloaded live.  The multicolored screens are meant to form one digital canvas– to signify the hyperactive app world of Apple.  Hence, the name: Apple’s Hyperwall.

The color-coordinated-collage represents about 50,000 of the most popular apps being downloaded in real time out of the 5 billion in the store.  Since it’s live, once the wall fills up, the pixelated multi-screen starts flurrying down apps all over again.  The repetitive motion attempts to capture the hyper active app consumers–the backbone of Apple’s mobile business. The digitized active wall is made up of 30 synchronized 24 inch LED cinema displays.  Have a watch below and see the hyper app wall in action.
