Ever wondered what would happen if one of these cheesy hip-hop videos starred models who also happened to be dressed in couture?  As Lanvin’s Fall/Winter collection has hit the stores, the latest campaign for the Alber Elbaz’s new exquisite line wears the them of a cheesy hip-hop video.  The result?  It’s hilarious and awkward all at once: to watch tall and skinny women and men — who have absolutely no rhythm, jive to some pretty bad tunes (AKA, You Know you Want Me: Calle Ocho by Pitbull).  See below.

The concept is so beyond satiric, that the pristine elegance usually oozing out of Elbaz’s impeccable designs, become an anachronism in the scenes.  And we suppose that’s exactly the goal of the campaign.  To add to the anomaly and hilarity of the whole thing: the Lanvin’s Creative Director himself actually makes a cameo at the very end — Hitchcockian style.

To put things in serious fashion-sense-perspective, have a watch at Lanvin’s edited fashion show version from last April in Paris (featured above).
