A recent collaboration between Maurice Lacroix, (a luxury Swiss watch brand) and Patricia Urquiola, (along with two other international designers, Kris Van Assche and Rodolfo Dordoni) is part of a campaign called, Quality Time.  The watches were auctioned off just this June, in which the proceeds will be donated to the charity of the three designers’ choice. And for Urquiola, it’ll be for the Global Diversity Foundation.

Caldera: Patricia Urquiola for Maurice Lacroix

Urquiola, the Spanish native architect/designer living in Milan—has been prominent in the design circuit post working as an architect—and is famous for many of her B&B Italia and Cappellini furniture pieces, as well as her interior design of the Madarin Hotel in Barcelona.

Urquiola has also previously designed watches for Alessi; hence, this is not a first for the well-experienced product/interior designer.  Aside from admittedly “keeping free” in her ideas, her inspiration for this watch project in particular, was to keep things “simple, fun while keeping several elements.” Have a watch at her profile video above via Maurice Lacroix, to learn more about Urquiola’s dictum.
